At the bottom of the additional pop-up panel, you’ll find your subject. Click on it, and you’ll see a clean mask of the subject also you will see multiple editing options like Face Skin, Body Skin, Eyebrows, Lips, Teeth, and Hair.

To smooth the face skin, just click on Face Skin and create a mask. You can select other options if needed, but for face skin smoothing, make sure to check Face Skin. Keep in mind this is an AI-based masking feature, which is a game-changer.

Use Lightroom’s Presets

If you want to smooth skin with an easy method then use Lightroom’s preset instead of making adjustments manually. To perform this, push the ‘Custom’ button that is present on the right side of the ‘Effect’ option.

Select and Open that Image

If there are marks or any other disturbing thing on the face of a person that is present in the image open this image in the editing panel of the Lightroom app. Now zoom the image by using your finger and thumb to check the details of the disturbance that requires smoothness.

Choose Editing Brush

It is time to select the editing brush that will enable you to select the affected part of the image that needs to be adjusted. You will also get heaps of editing options but you have to use an editing brush and perform particular settings with the help of this brush.

Paint the Skin Using the Brush

Now you have to select the skin area where you want to apply the brush to make the skin smooth and the selected area will appear red. This red screen is a mask to indicate the place where the brush has been applied. I never select eyes and lips for smoothing to maintain the originality of the real image.

The diamond will shine in its specific blue color and indicates that you can perform adjustments now. After completing the masking process you have to disable the blue diamond.

Additionally, if you realize that some areas of your skin have been Wrongly brushed, click the eraser icon on the left side of the screen to remove the unwanted sections.

Use the Smoothning Effect

After painting the selected area select the ‘Effects’ option from the bottom of your screen. Now adjust the texture and clarity and keep it less than 50.

Now push the ‘Detail’ button that is present under the image, and fix noise and sharpness from the noise and sharpness sliders. It is suggested to raise the noise level to 50 plus decrease the sharpness to -50 and save the changes you made.
